Crestview is another trendy area of Austin, now considered central Austin by today’s standards, but not long ago, considered North Austin. Crestview is bordered by North Lamar, Anderson Lane, Burnet Road and Koenig Lane. This is a neighborhood that’s great for walking or riding a bicycle. It has that All-American hometown feel!
Most of its homes were originally ranch-style, built in the 50s and 60s, some on pier and beam, with 2 or 3 bedrooms and 1 or 2 bathrooms. Now that more people are finding that Crestview homes can easily be updated to the now popular urban and industrial look, it has seen a surge in popularity.
Crestview has a number of churches and even its own central shopping area with a barbershop and small grocery store as well as a few other small businesses. Its Minimax grocery store is probably one of the few remaining stores of that brand in Texas!
